Pellicle Help

Network Volumes

macOS sometimes changes the mount path of network volumes. For example, if a previous mount of /Volumes/AV wasn't cleanly disconnected, macOS may remount the share as /Volumes/AV-1 or /Volumes/AV-2.

Pellicle handles this automatically. When it detects that a volume has been remounted at a different path, it creates a transparent mapping so that all indexed photos remain accessible under their new location. The database always stores the original canonical path, so the mapping is reversed when the volume returns to its normal mount point.

You don't need to re-index or reconfigure anything when this happens.

Periodic Rescanning

Each folder can be configured to rescan on a schedule (e.g., every 30 minutes). This catches any files that were added, changed, or deleted while Pellicle wasn't running. You can adjust the poll interval in the folder settings, or set it to zero to disable periodic rescanning entirely.
